Tamiya Wilson of the San Francisco State volleyball team was named to the D2CCA All-West Region Team. The true freshman was named to the Second Team and was one of two freshmen in the region to be honored. Five players from the CCAA earned All-West Region honors with only one being named to the First Team. Wilson also marked the first player in the
Matt Hoffman era to earn D2CCA West Region Honors.
The CCAA Freshman of the Year had a banner first season for the purple and yellow. Wilson had a dominate start to her career and led the conference with 4.03 kills per set off 371 kills at the end of the regular season. She recorded double-digit kills in all but four matches and had six double-doubles. Wilson also had 17 service aces, 156 digs and 28 blocks. Her 371 kills ranked seventh in a single season. She also ranked second in the conference in points with 4.38 per set with 402.5 points. Wilson earned CCAA Offensive Player of the Week twice. Both times Wilson was named Offensive Player of the Week, she had record book performances. Against Cal State Monterey Bay at home, Wilson registered 25 kills, eighth most in a single match. Her 30 kills in the final game of the season against Cal State San Bernardino broke a single match school record.
The Gators finished the season 14-11 and 10-8 in the CCAA. SF State posted a winning record in conference for the third season in a row.
