How it Happened

After opening the game on a 5-0 run, Domincan came back to take its first lead of the game in the first. The Gators had their largest deficit in the first down 16-9, but back-to-back layups from Blake and Velasquez made it a one possession game. A buzzer-beater three from the Penguins gave them a 19-15 advantage at the end of the quarter.

A big second quarter swung the advantage back to SF State as they outscored the Penguins 23-11 and shot 56.3 from the field. Snipe's layup at 8:05 in the third quarter gave the Gators their biggest lead of the night at 44-31. But the offense stalled as turnovers started to plague the Gators. SF State only made one more basket the rest of the quarter as the Penguins cut the Gator's lead down to 48-45.

Dominican took its first lead of the second half with a three-pointer early in the fourth quarter. The Gators stayed within two possessions up until the final minute but were unable to reclaim the lead.
