SAN FRANCISCO - Four San Francisco State volleyball players —
Kimberly DeBoer,
Brianna DeBoer,
Chloe Henning and
Alhana Velasquez — have been named to the 2022 Division II Academic All-District® Women's Volleyball Team, as selected by
College Sports Communicators.
The 2022 Academic All-District® Women's Volleyball Team recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes soccer honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III, and NAIA — for each gender.
Kimberly DeBoer becomes the program's first Setter of the Year after leading the conference in assists per sets at 10.93. She finished with 1006 assists on the season and cracked the top ten in career assists with 1603 total assists. DeBoer added 204 digs and posted eight double-doubles. In addition, DeBoer added 76 kills, 21 service aces and 23 blocks. DeBoer was named CCAA Setter of the Week twice this past season. Off the court, DeBoer serves as the SAAC president. She boasts a 3.88 GPA and is majoring in Kinesiology.
In her second season as the starting libero,
Brianna DeBoer averaged 4.12 digs per set to finish fifth in the conference. She led the team with 379 digs while adding 26 service aces and 30 assists. DeBoer posted 20 or more digs in six games this season. The Murrieta native is majoring in Sociology and has a 3.63 GPA.
Velasquez stepped into a bigger role her sophomore season after only playing in eight matches a season ago. She was second on the team with 233 kills and ninth in conference in kills per set (2.84) and points per set (3.36). Velasquez also added 26 service aces, 80 digs and 28 blocks. The sophomore from Northridge is an Interior Design major with a 3.76 GPA.
Chloe Henning played in all 25 matches, started 17 and only missed two sets. She was second on the team with 49 blocks and also added 130 kills. The sophomore from West Sacramento is majoring in Political Science and has a 4.0 GPA.
Academic All-District® honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced in early December.
The Division II CSC Academic All-America® program is partially financially supported by the NCAA Division II national governance structure to assist CSC with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2022-23 Division II Academic All-America® program.
