How it Happened
The Gators started hot and jumped out to a 10-0 lead but the Sunbirds steadily chipped away and eventually tied the game at 19-19 with 8:32 to go in the first half. Gilat kept the Gators in front with a three-pointer, then both teams went scoreless for nearly three minutes until the Sunbirds took a three-point lead when Martin Maide and Kyle Monk hit back-to-back threes. The Gators chipped the lead down to one, 31-30, at halftime thanks to a jumper from Okeke.

Okeke started the second half with an and-one that put SF State back up two. The Gators led until the four-minute mark when Kendricks knotted the game at 63-63 with another Sunbirds three-pointer. Tied at 65-65, Caleb Oden scored in the paint with 1:22 to go. The Gators only allowed a pair of Sunbirds free throws over the final minute and made four themselves to ice the win.
