SAN FRANCISCO - After a career performance against #16 Cal State San Bernardino,
Tamiya Wilson of teh San Francisco State volleyball team was named the California Collegiate Athletic Association Offensive Player of the Week. This is the second time this season she has earned the award.
In a thrilling five set match against defending CCAA Champions Cal State San Bernardino, Wilson led the Gators with a school-record 30 kills off a .254 attack percentage. The 30 kills were the most recorded by a player in the CCAA this season by four. On the week, Wilson had 40 kills, averaged 5.0 kills per set, with 22 digs.
At the end of the regular season, Wilson sits atop of the conference leader board with 371 kills, 4.03 kills per set and is second in points at 4.38 per set. Her 371 kills on the season ranks seventh in a single season.
In total, the Gators have picked up CCAA Player of the Week award five times this season. Wilson previously earned the award for Oct. 3-9,
Kimberly DeBoer earned Setter of the Week for Aug. 25-28 and Oct 24-30 and
Chloe Henning won Defensive Player of the Week for Sept 19-25.
