How it Happened

The Gators only made one basket in the first quarter and closed out the first down 17-4. SF State's offense found its rhythm in the second quarter and came back with six off a Blake three with under two minutes to go. The Gators would get another point at the charity line and the Broncos would score a three to take a 30-21 lead into half.

The Gators' offense reverted to its first quarter form in the third quarter as it went 3-for-14 from the field. Fouls became a problem for the Gators. SF State had 10 fouls in the third quarter while the Broncos went 11-for-12 from the line. Jolene Armendariz, Tierra Snipes and Kali Myers were all at four fouls by the end of the quarter as the Gators trailed 47-28.

Blake had three three-point baskets in a row to cut the deficit down 53-44 with 2:11 left in the game. But with Snipes and Armendariz fouled out and a couple of SF State turnovers, the Gators could not complete the comeback.
