TURLOCK - Behind one of the best shooting nights of the season, the San Francisco State women's basketball team dispatched Stanislaus State 77-66 at Fitzpatrick Arena. The Gators shot a season high 48.1 percent from the field and stole the ball 15 times against the Warriors.
Â
- Gators improve to 8-12 overall and 6-10 in the CCAA. Stanislaus falls to 11-7 and 6-6 in the CCAA.
- The 77 points were the most scored in a conference game this season. With the win, the Gators sweep a conference foe for the first time since the 2018-19 season when they swept CSUEB.
- Jolene Armendariz had a season high 24 points and matched SF State's single game record with six threes.
- This was only the second time this season four Gators hit double-digits in scoring. Alexsandra Alvarado finished with 22 points and set new career highs in assists (six) and steals (five). Muirae Gomez had 14 points while Mya Blake had 13.
- The Gators finished with a season high 18 assists.
- SF State's 15 steals were one shy of a season high. Mya Blake's four steals set a new career high.
- The Gators limited Stanislaus to 31.5 percent shooting including below thirty percent in the first two quarters.
- Taylor Pilot had 21 points to lead the Warriors.
The Gators seemingly could not miss in the first two quarters. After taking a 21-11 lead in the first quarter, the Gators shot 8-for-10 from the field in the second quarter and 5-for-6 from three. Alvarado's three with under a minute to go gave the Gator's their largest lead of the first half at 44-22. Despite the Gators cooling off offensively in the third and fourth quarters, the Warriors were only able to make up so much ground. Stanislaus came within 10 of the lead with four minutes remaining but the Gators made baskets down the stretch and made their shots when sent to the line.
