SAN FRANCISCO — San Francisco State men's basketball player Sean Orr has been named to the 2021-22 Division II Academic All-District® Men's Basketball First Team, as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

The 2021-22 Academic All-District® Men's Basketball teams, selected by CoSIDA, recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom.

A senior from Daly City, Orr sports an impressive 3.90 GPA and is working towards a degree in Communications. This season, Orr has started in all 23 games for the Gators. He is currently averaging 10 points per game on 45.2 percent shooting from the field. He's shooting 36.8 percent from deep and is 83.7 percent effective from the free throw line.

First-team Academic All-District® honorees advance to the CoSIDA Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced in early March. Orr posted a career-high 20 points in a January 2 game at Cal State Monterey Bay. He snagged a 11 rebounds and dished out four assists, also both career highs, in an 82-80 home win over Cal State LA on December 9.

The Division II CoSIDA Academic All-America® program is partially financially supported by the NCAA Division II national governance structure to assist CoSIDA with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2021-22 Division II Academic All-America® program.
