HAYWARD - The San Francisco State women's basketball team came back from a deficit late in the fourth quarter but were unable to take the lead and take victory over Cal State East Bay in a 64-60 victory.
- Gators fall to 8-14 overall and 6-12 in the CCAA. East improves to 19-2 and 14-1 in the CCAA.
- Ashley Hart lead the Gators with 14 points and grabbed six rebounds.
- Taimane Lesa-Hardee's three was her 100th career three-pointer. She becomes the sixth Gator in program history to reach 100.
- The Gators went 13-15 from the line with Alexsandra Alvarado going 7-for-8. East Bay went 13-for-22.
- SF State held the advantage on shooting going 37.9 percent from the field
- East Bay had 45 rebounds compared to SF State's 32.
- Abigail Cooper led the Pioneer's with 15 points
The Gators could not find the basket to start the game and went 1-for-10 in the first quarter. SF State managed to stay in the game thanks to East Bay turnovers and good free throw shooting. Going into the third quarter down 34-21, the Gator offense came alive to shoot 53.8 percent from the field and add 17 points. Defensively, they held East Bay to 2-for-20 in the quarter. Trailing by a possession as they headed to the final frame, the Gators stayed within two possessions the entire fourth quarter. Hart's step back jumper tied the game at 60 all with 1:52 remaining. The Pioneers made both free throws to go up 63-60 with 11 seconds left. Lesa-Hardee missed the game tying three and the Pioneers iced the game on the next possession.
