PUEBLO, Colorado — The San Francisco State baseball team fell in the series finale of its series with CSU Pueblo 27-2. The Gators pitching staff could not contain aThunderWolf offense that put up 27 hits
- SF State falls to 5-3 while CSU Pueblo improves to 5-7. With the loss, the Gators split the series.
- The ThunderWolves went 27-for-42 at the plate.
- Justin Clark went 2-for-2 with a double.
- The defense allowed four stolen bases and had two errors in the game.
- The Gators pitching staff only threw one strikeout.
Sammy Gonzales, Clark and
Nick Upstill all singled in their first at bats. Upstill's hit brought in the first runner of the day and
Richie Rios' at bat brought in another. The ThunderWolves offense was relentless and chased
Nathan Shinn out of the game after 1.1 innings and seven runs scored. From there on, CSU Pueblo piled on runs, making a comeback too out of reach for the Gators.
"Not much to say about that game other than we got it handed to us. Pueblo showed up ready to compete. We did not compete on the mound and on defense like we usually do. All we can do is turn the page," said Head Coach Tony Schifano.
