How it Happened

The Gators opened up the game with a 8-0 lead and never looked back. SF State did a good job controlling the ball and only turned it over five times in the first half. Defensively, the Gators were able to hold the Lumberjacks to 0-for-8 from beyond the arch and take a number of charges to force a turnover. The Gators led by as much as 20 and took a 36-21 lead into the locker room. Humboldt's Thomas Melonja made a three to open the second half and get the Lumberjacks within 12. Jalen Chandler landed a pair of free throws during the following two possessions and the Lumberjacks would never get closer than 12 points from the lead the rest of the game.

Quotable

"When we bring that level of focus and energy to the defensive side of the ball, we can be really impressive at times. It is fun to watch!" Lauded Head Coach Vince Inglima. "Sean Orr has been our emotional leader all season, and it has been great to see him playing so well in the last several games. He is so solid in every facet of the game. We are mch better when he is on the floor."
