NCAA Division II Make It Yours

Sheared, Mazroy to Attend DII SAAC Super Region Convention

| By:
SAN FRANCISCO - Aria Mazroy of the wrestling team will be representing SF State at the DII SAAC Super Region Convention on April 8-10 in Garden Grove, California. Mazroy has served as the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee president for SF State for the past two years.

Mazroy, a Philosophy major from San Diego, recently wrapped up his wrestling career at SF State.

"As President of SAAC, I am grateful to be chosen to go to the DII SAAC Super Region Convention and for the opportunity to meet with other student-athletes that are also involved in sharing their experiences involved with their universities. I am excited to share my experience with San Francisco State Athletics and bring back some knowledge to help all athletes have the best college experience and promote SFSU SAAC," stated Mazroy.

Joining Mazroy is Gameday Management Coordinator Jamil Sheared, who serves as the advisor of SAAC.

"I am honored to be invited to this," said Sheared. "Being involved with student government has given me a new perspective on student athletic life and all that comes from this. This will be the next step in the process of becoming a better advocate for student engagement."

The NCAA Division II Student-Athlete Advisory Committee Super Region Convention is intended to bolster student-athlete participation in the Division II governance structure and foster communication among SAACs at the campus, conference and national levels. The super region convention debuted in November 2017 as part of the division's Foundation for the Future initiative. The Division II SAAC hosts two Super Region Conventions for the 2021-22 school year: Nov. 19-21, 2021, in Chicago for institutions in the Central and Midwest regions, and in California April 8-10, 2022, for institutions in the South Central and West regions.
