SAN FRANCISCO — The San Francisco State baseball team fell 8-6 in the series finale with Stanislaus State, tying the overall series. Errors were costly for the Gators as the Warriors only tallied three earned runs.
- SF State falls to 16-24 and 11-21 in CCAA action while Stanislaus State improves to 13-28 and 11-25 in the CCAA.
- Stanislaus outhit SF State 13 to 4.
- Richie Rios' triple was hit first of the season and the only extra base hit of the game.
- Both Rios and Gavin Mancha had a pair of RBIs.
- Justin Clark had two walks on the day while the Gators as a team had seven.
The Gators scored first with a Sac Fly from
Justin Clark in the bottom of the first.
With the bases loaded and two outs,
Gavin Mancha hit a single into center field to bring in two Gators a give the team a 3-0 lead.
Up 3-1 to start the top of the fifth, the Warriors scored four runs to take their first lead of the game. A fielding error from the short stop cause three of the four runs plated that inning to be unearned. A wild pitch would allow another run to be scored in the top of the seventh, and a Sac Fly made it a 7-3 game for the Warriors in the top of the eighth.
Richie Rios cleared the bases with a triple to add two runs for the Gators. He came home to make it a one-run game when
Luke O'Brien hit a Sac Fly.
Down two runs in the bottom of the ninth,
Sammy Gonzales opened the inning with a single, but the next three batters were all retired.
- Nathan Shinn went 6.1 innings and allowed 11 hits, six runs with only two earned runs. He also threw five strikeouts.
- Ryan Nabas, Garrett Jensen and Mitch Hofer pitched in relief. Nabas and Jensen gave up a run with Jensen's unearned.
- Noah Chelberg earned the win in relief for Stanislaus.
