SAN FRANCISCO — Kimberly DeBoer of the San Francisco State volleyball team was named the California Collegiate Athletic Association Setter of the Week. This is the first weekly conference honor in DeBoer's career. New for the 2022 season, the CCAA will award a weekly Setter of the Week, Offensive Player and Defensive Player of the Week.
DeBoer was also named the Gator of the Week alongside teammate Tamiya Wilson.
DeBoer led the Gators to a 2-2 weekend at the Magic Island Classic presented by Ala Moana Hotel by Mantra with both losses coming to nationally-ranked teams. She was named to the All-Tournament Team after averaging 9.5 assists, 1.38 digs, and 1.19 kills per set. Her 49 assists against Chaminade and seven kills against Western Oregon were all career highs. In total, the sophomore setter racked up 152 assists on the weekend.
The Gators are back in action this weekend at the Seaside Invitational hosted by Point Loma. They'll face the host Sea Lions on Thursday, September 1 at 5 p.m., Concordia on Friday, September 2 at Noon, and Simon Fraser on Saturday, September 2 at 9:30 a.m. Fans can follow along for updates on instagram and Twitter at SFstate_VB.
