IRVINE, Calif. — The San Francisco State women's soccer team picked up a hard-fought 2-1 road win against Concordia on Wednesday afternoon at Eagles Field.
- Wednesday marked the first meeting for the two programs. SF State improves to 2-3 while the Golden Eagles slip to 3-2-1.

- SF State held a 27-4 shot advantage, including 12-2 shots on goal.
- CUI also held a slight 3-2 corner kick advantage, though the Gators scored the game-winner off of a set piece.
- The match proved physical with both teams combining for 27 fouls and three yellow cards.
The Golden Gators took an early in the eighth minute. Samantha Shim intercepted a ball near the midfield, then took the ball across the center line. She passed ahead to Alexa Avelar, who crossed it to Alyna Flores at the top of the box. Flores threaded a quick shot to the right side of the net between the goalkeeper and the near post for the early lead.
The Golden Eagles' Riley Walkington delivered the equalizer in the 12th minute when she stole the ball and bounced a shot over goalkeeper
Marcella Salyer's head. The two teams played to a 1-1 tie at the half and that score remained until the 74th minute. The Gators had a corner kick from the left side. A header directed the ball towards
AJ Tanner, who fired a shot off. Tanner's shot was blocked but
Rosalyn Olamit was there for the putback, resulting in her first career goal and the eventual game-winner.
Salyer matched a season-high six saves and allowed the Golden Eagles goal. Huntington Beach native Kylie Tone (1-0) tended goal for SF State for the final 17 minutes. She did not face a shot but picked up the win as she was in goal when the Gators went ahead. Riley Urquiza, coming off of PacWest Defender of the Week honors, made four saves but took the loss for the Golden Eagles.
"This was a team performance today, we got great minutes from all 20 players who traveled, just a massive team effort," said Head Coach John DeMartini. "Alyna and Rosalyn gave us quality goals and we had a great defensive performance to go with the attacking performance."
