VB | Henning Named CCAA Defensive POW

| By:
SAN FRANCISCO - Chloe Henning of the San Francisco State volleyball team was named the California Collegiate Athletic Association Defensive Player of the Week for the week of Sept. 18-25. This is the first weekly honor in Henning's career. Defensive Player of the Week was added to the conference weekly awards for the 2022 season. Henning marks the first middle blocker to earn the award.

Henning tallied 10 blocks on the weekend to defend the front of the next for the Gators and lead them to a 2-0 weekend. She also had 16 kills on the weekend.

Against Sonoma State on Friday, the West Sacramento product recorded a career-best 12 kills and season-high seven blocks with one solo block. Her .750 attacking percentage ranks fourth best for a single match in the SF State record books. Henning's seven blocks in a match is just one shy of her career-best. Henning then added four kills and three blocks versus Cal Poly Humboldt. In all, she accounted for 21.5 points.

SF State is back at home this weekend for a pair of conference games. They host Cal State LA Friday, September 30 at 5:00 p.m. Tickets can be purchased here. The match will be live streamed through the CCAA network and live stats are available at sfstategators.com/livestats_vb. Fans can follow along for updates on instagram and Twitter at SFstate_VB.
