TURLOCK, Calif. — The San Francisco State women's soccer team surrendered a pair of goals in the final 10 minutes of play for an eventual 2-0 loss on Friday night at Stanislaus State.
- Stanislaus State improves to 5-2-2 overall and 2-1 in CCAA action while the Gators fall to 2-6-2 overall and 0-2-1 in CCAA play.
- The Warriors outshot the Gators 17-4, including 8-3 on goal.
- Stan State held a 3-1 corner kick advantage.
- The Gators have now been shutout five times, including their last three outings.
Alyna Flores had a shot attempt sail high in the 25th minute. In the 30th minute,
Mikenna Madelans had her shot saved, and in the 41st minute
Kylie Schneider placed a shot on goal. The Gators battled to a scoreless half but the offense was limited in the second half. The Gators' only shot of the final 45 minutes came in the 51st minute when
AJ Tanner had her shot saved. SF State held the Warriors off the scoreboard until the 76th minute when Daisy Martinez connected on a Summer England corner kick. The Warriors added an insurance goal in the 85th minute when Alexis Brewah connected with Arionna Imhoff.
Marcella Salyer (1-5-2) matched a season-high six saves but allowed both Warriors goals. Alexia Estrada (5-1-2) made three saves and earned her third shutout of the year for the Warriors.
SF State next heads to Hayward on Sunday, October 2 for an 11:30 a.m. match at Cal State East Bay (2-4-3/0-2-1 CCAA). Both teams are in search of their first CCAA win.
