CARSON, Calif. – The San Francisco State women's basketball team fell to the #14 Cal State Dominguez Hills Toros 77-65 Saturday afternoon. The Gators made it a one-possession game early in the fourth quarter, but fouls and a stagnant offense kept SF State from taking the lead.

Taimane Lesa-Hardee drove the offense to start the game and scored the first six points for the Gators. Lesa-Hardee passed the ball to
Mya Blake for a three to give the Gators their first lead of the game at 9-8. A 7-0 run by the Toros gave them a 20-14 lead with less than two minutes to go.
Talia Garner made both free throws to cut the lead to two possessions and trail 23-18 at the end of the first quarter.
The Toros took their largest lead of the second quarter off a three that extended it to 31-23. The Gators, who outshot the Toros in the second quarter, did not have the same success at the line and went 0-for-3. The Toros went 5-for-8 to keep their edge over the Gators and led 43-34 at the half.
After back-to-back baskets cut the lead to 43-39, both teams stalled for the next two minutes. The Toros broke the ice and an 11-0 run put them up 54-39 with 2:36 remaining in the third quarter. The Gators went on their own scoring drive and a buzzer beater three from Velazquez cut the deficit to 54-48.
Lesa-Hardee's three made it a one possession game to start the fourth. Fouls and turnovers were a problem for the Gators as SF State committed six turnovers and had 12 personal fouls in the fourth. The Gators only went 2-for-11 from the field as the Toros pulled away with the lead in the final frame.
