SAN FRANCISCO — A match after the offense exploded for 21 shots, the San Francisco State women's soccer team was shutout 2-0 by Cal Poly Humboldt.
- The Gators slip to 2-7-1 and 1-2-0 in CCAA action. The Lumberjacks boast the conference's best overall record at 8-1-1 (.850), though they sit in fourth place in the CCAA at 2-1-0.
- Cal Poly Humboldt held a 9-7 shot advantage, though both teams placed four on goal.
- The Lumberjacks also held a 5-2 corner kick advantage.
Cal Poly Humboldt broke through in the 34th minute when Brooke Weese scored her second goal of the season, off of the assists from Morgan Young and Annie Hoffman. In the 54th minute, the Lumberjacks doubled their lead when Emilia Long connected with Frida Duran Arellano with her league-leading sixth goal of the season.
Cameryn Nunn (1-4) made her fourth start of the season. She was charged with two goals and made a pair of saves. Carson Thomson-Terrel picked up the win for Cal Poly Humboldt with a four-save shutout.
SF State continues the three-game homestand on Sunday, October 8 at 11:30 a.m. versus Sonoma State.
