2023 All-CCAA Volleyball

VB | Five Gators Earn All-Conference Honors

SAN FRANCISCO - Five Student-Athletes on the San Francisco State volleyball team earned California Collegiate Athletic Association Honors, as announced by the conference on November 15. Kimberly DeBoer was named Setter of the Year for the second-straight season in addition to being named to the First Team. Tamiya Wilson earned First Team honors a second year in a row. Izzy Issak and Trinity Yates both earned Second Team honors for the first time in their careers. Aidan Goodrich was named Freshman of the Year and garnered Honorable Mention.

DeBoer led the CCAA with 1035 assists and averaged 10.78 per set, good for 15th in the NCAA. She has recorded the most assists in a four-set match (55) and five-set match (63) in the conference this season. DeBoer ranks third on the team with 32 service aces and also added 215 digs, 47 kills and 30 blocks. The junior from Murietta was named the Conference Setter of the Week three times this season.

Wilson, the 2022 Freshman of the Year, picked up where she left off and led the Gators with 412.5 points, 360 kills, 38 aces and added 237 digs and 27 blocks. Wilson's 3.79 kills per set ranks third in the CCAA, 4.34 points per set ranks fourth and .40 aces per set ranks eighth. She earned Conference and National Player of the Week for the week of September 18-25. In the final game of the regular season, Wilson recorded 34 kills against Humboldt, breaking her own single match record and recording the most kills in a match in the conference this season. 

After missing last season due to injury, Issak bounced back to finish second on the team in kills at 272. Issak, who earned Honorable Mention in 2021, also added 193 digs, 36 blocks and 25 aces. Issak set career highs in kills (22) and points (26) against Cal Poly Humboldt on September 14.

Yates had her best season to date, starting in all 26 matches and was one of four Gators to play in all 96 sets. She was third on the team with 199 kills and a .424 hitting percentage that ranks second in the conference and sixth in the NCAA. Defensively, Yates finished second on the team with 53 blocks. 

Goodrich played in 24 matches with 10 starts and saw action in 82 sets. The Fresno native finished fourth on the team in kills with 181 and adde 40 digs and 25 blocks. The Gators claim Freshman of the Year for back-to-back seasons with Wilson earning the honor a season ago.

San Francisco State will face Cal State San Marcos in the first round of the 2023 CCAA Volleyball Tournament on Thursday, Nov. 16 at 3 p.m. The match will be broadcast on the CCAA Network with live stats available at sfstategators.com. Updates will also be available on X at @sfstate_vb.
