By the Numbers

  • SF State is now 4-1 on the season while PUC drops to 0-5. The Pioneers have now lost twice by a 62-point margin, also falling to Sacramento State last Tuesday. The Gators move to 8-1 all-time versus the Pioneers.
  • The Gators' 122 points are the most in a single game in program history and the most dating back to a January 23, 1995 win when the Gators topped Pacific Lutheran 119-96. That game tied the previous program record, set by the 1980 squad with a 119-23 win over UC Santa Cruz. The 96 point margin of victory over the Banana Slugs remains the largest in program history.
  • All 14 SF State players scored as the Gators shot 55.3 percent (42-of-76) from the field, including 48.6 percent (17-of-35) from deep.
  • Tyjean Burrell led all players with 20 points. Burrell was 7-of-8 from the field, including 5-of-5 from deep. He also had five rebounds and four assists.
  • Jonah Roth added 19 points and a team-high seven rebounds.
  • Jailen Daniel Dalton scored 15 points to go with four rebounds and a pair of blocks.
  • John Bakke and Alex Gilat both chipped in 10 points apiece, both season-highs for the pair of juniors.
  • CJ Bellamy dished out a game-high six assists, one off of his career mark.
  • SF State dominated the glass 48-27. The 48 were the team's most rebounds dating back to December 31, when SF State had 52 versus Cal State Monterey Bay.
  • Jacob Ebert led PUC with 16 points. Kyle Durham added 14 in the loss.

How it Happened

Tyjean Burrell buried a three-pointer on the opening possession. Less than four minutes in, the Gators lead was double digits thanks to a six-point run. A 12-point run capped off by a pair of Roth free throws put the Gators up 22 with over seven minutes to go in the half. Parsa Hadjighasemi hit a pair of three-pointers, including one to beat the buzzer at the half, as SF State closed the half on an 8-2 run for a 59-30 halftime lead.

SF State opened the second half on a 15-2 run that included four three-pointers, and that pushed the lead to 42. A 14-0 run grew the lead to 58 with 11:32 to go. The lead grew to as large as 65 in the final seconds.
