AVCA All-American Honorable Mention: Tamiya Wilson and Kimberly DeBoer

VB | DeBoer, Wilson Named AVCA All-American Honorable Mention

SAN FRANCISCO - Kimberly DeBoer and Tamiya Wilson both were named AVCA All-American Honorable Mention for the first time in their careers. The pair both were named AVCA West Region Honorable Mention a week ago.

DeBoer was named the CCAA Setter of the Year for the second season in a row in addition to earning All-CCAA First Team Honors. DeBoer has 1077 assists on the season and averaged 10.88 per set, good for 16th in the NCAA. The 1077 assists ranks eighth in a single season and her 2680 career assists ranks fourth in program history. She has recorded the most assists in a four-set match (55) and five-set match (63) in the conference this season. DeBoer ranks second on the team with 35 service aces and also added 217 digs, 48 kills and 30 blocks. The junior from Murietta was named the Conference Setter of the Week three times this season. After a strong performance against Cal State San Marcos in the CCAA Tournament, DeBoer garnished All-Tournament Honors.

Wilson followed up her sensational freshman campaign with another strong season, earning All-CCAA First Team Honors for a second straight season. She led the Gators with 439 points, 384 kills, 39 aces and added 260 digs and 30 blocks. Her 384 kills this season ranks third in a single season. Wilson ranks fourth in the conference in points per set and kills per set. She earned Conference and National Player of the Week for the week of September 18-25. In the final game of the regular season, Wilson recorded 34 kills against Humboldt, breaking her own single match record and recording the most kills in a match in the conference this season. 

The Gators concluded their season at NCAA Western Regionals, marking the first time since 2012 the Gators competed in the post season tournament.
