POMONA, Calif.— The San Francisco State women's basketball team fell to Cal Poly Pomona 73-36. The Gator scored 15 points in the first half and put themselves in too deep of a hole to come out of in the second half.
- The Gators fall to 2-4 and 1-2 in conference play. Cal Poly Pomona improves to 5-2 and 2-1 in CCAA action.
- No player for SF State scored more than six points. Kalaya Buggs of Cal Poly Pomona had a game-high 15 points.
- SF State shot 24.6 percent from the field compared to the Bronco's 43.1 percent.
- The Gators finished with 27 turnovers.
After Pomona took a 14-7 lead after one frame, the Broncos widen their lead by outscoring the Gators 23-8 in the second quarter. The Broncos shot 50.0 percent from the field. On the flip side, the Gators shot 21.4 percent and turned the ball over eight times. The Gators kept pace with the Broncos in the third quarter with Perséas Gioukaris scoring four points in the quarter. The deficit proved to be too much to overcome in the fourth quarter and the Gators came away with the loss.
