How It Happened

For a second straight game, Sammy Gonzales got on base with a leadoff hit in the first and scored when Upstill hit a sac fly to bring him home. Gardner singled in the second and a triple by Derek Laferierre gave the Gators their second run. In the top of the third, Justin Clark triple to left field to plate Upstill and Garder swung for a double to make it a 4-0 game. The Mountain Lions scored on a bases loaded walk in the bottom of the inning, but the Gators limited the damage to just one run.

The Gators blew the game open, scoring four runs in the fifth and sixth inning and adding three in the seventh. During those three innings, the Mountain Lions only registered two hits.
