How It Happened

The Thunder Wolves got on the board first in the top of the fourth. An error on the catcher allowed the batter to reach first base safely after he struck out, allowing Trey Vasquez to reach third. A bunt on the next play allowed the runner on third to score. A hit by pitch loaded up the runners with two outs but Eglite tossed a strikeout to end the inning.

Down 1-0 in the bottom of the eighth, AJ Schrader hit a one-out single. Cole Thompson came into pinch run for Schrader. Matt Sugden singled to advance Thompson and a fielder's choice allowed Thompson to reach third. Sammy Gonzales doubled to bring Thompson home. With the game tied 1-1, Michael Cunningham hit the play to left field, allowing pinch runner Antonio Nanez to score one run safely and Gonzales to slide home for the second run. After an error got the lead-off runner on in the top of the ninth, the Gators got a ground out for the first out. The following batter was walked but the Gators ended the game with a double-play.
