By the Numbers

  • After starting the season 5-1, the Gators (5-6/0-2 CCAA) have dropped five in a row and are under .500 for the first time this season.  The No. 25 Seawolves improve to 8-1 overall and 2-0 in CCAA play.
  • Mia Misasi went 2-for-2 with a walk.
  • In game two, Jade Johnson led off the fifth inning with her first career hit.

How They Scored

  • Kaitlyn Maddux got two quick outs to begin game one but the Seawolves grabbed the early lead. Giana Hays banged a double off the center field wall and Jordyn Martinez followed with an RBI double to the gap in right center.
  • The Seawolves doubled their lead in the third. Maddux stuck her glove out on a Rylee Nishimoto comebacker and the ball glanced off and past the second baseman DeLeon, which allowed Reagan Hunt to score from third.
  • The Seawolves hung a crooked inning in the fifth. SSU scored three times and chased Maddux with the bases still loaded, and reliever Taylor Kelly couldn't get out of the inning either. SF State's third pitcher of the frame, Madeline Eshbach, got an out to end the inning.

How They Scored

  • In game two, starting pitcher Brooklyn Heffernan worked out of a bases-loaded jam in the first and struck out the side in the second. In the third, she surrendered a two-out RBI double to Martinez.
  • A couple of errors led to a crooked fourth for the Seawolves. An errant throw by Liana Gonzalez in the fifth made it 7-0 and the Seawolves posted another crooked inning with a four-run sixth.
