How it Happened

Both teams started slow in the first quarter, missing easy shots. The Gators went three-for-eight from three to help keep a slight edge over the Broncos. Blake drove for a lay-up to give the Gators a 13-10 lead at the end of the first quarter. A 19-1 run from the Broncos put them in front as Cal Poly Pomona led 29-17 with :56 remaining in the second quarter. A three-pointer from Samaria Velazquez cut the Broncos' lead to nine heading into the locker room.

Blake opened up the third quarter with a three point basket but the Broncos responded with a 10-0 run before the Gators could score again. Down 53-33 in the fourth, the deficit proved to be too much for the Gators to overcome.
