How It Happened

After the first two batters drew walks to start the game, Justin Clark singled up the left to bring in the first run. Matt Sugden hit the other way and drove in another two runs for the Gators. Gavin Haimovitz capped off a big first with an RBI single to right field. The Yotes responded with a pair of runs in the bottom of the inning but the Gators were able to limit the damage with a double play to clear the bases.

The Yotes tied the game up with a two-run homer in the bottom of the third. The Gators put up six runs in the top of the fourth to give the Gators a 10-4 lead. A three-run homer by Sugden, followed by a solo shot by AJ Schrader in the at bat highlighted the inning. San Bernardino made it a three-run game once again with one swing of the bat for another homer. The Gators opened the floodgates again in the top of the seventh, plating five runs off six hits to take a 15-7 lead.
