LOS ANGELES - The San Francisco State baseball team opened its series with Cal State Los Angeles with a 6-0 shutout victory Friday evening at Reeder Field. The pitching staff put together one of their best performances of the season and limited the Golden Eagles to three hits, the fewest recorded against the Gators all season.

- The Gators improve to 14-10 and 7-9 in the CCAA. The Golden Eagles fall to 10-13 and 5-9 in conference.
- SF State shut out an opponent for the first time since Feb 21, 2020 when they beat Cal State San Marcos 12-0
- AJ Schrader's homerun in the sixth makes him the new team leader with five.
- SF State drew six walks and two hit by pitches with Sammy Gonzales drawing both of them.
- Gonzales led the team in runs with three. Schrader, Kody Gardner and Nick Upstill each had two RBIs for the Gators.

Daniel Santos hit lead-off singles in the first and
Kody Gardner put the ball in play to allow Gonzales to score from third. In the following inning with bases loaded, Upstill sent the ball down to right field to bring in another pair of runs for the Gators. In another bases loaded situation in the fourth, Gardner hit a bloop single to right field to extend the lead to 4-0.
After a lead-off double from
Gavin Haimovitz, Schrader launched the ball over the right field fence in the top of the fifth.
While the Gator bats settled down after the fifth inning, the pitching staff and defense held strong to keep the Golden Eagles from scoring.Â

- Mickey Radanovich made his first career start, pitching two innings to set up regular starter Nathan Shinn. He threw a strikeout and gave up one hit in his start.
- Shinn pitched six scoreless frames and tossed seven strikeouts while only giving up a hit and a walk. He improves his record to 3-2.
- Justice Naraghi closed out the game in the final inning and tossed a strikeout.
- Owen Hunt drew the loss for Cal State Los Angeles.
