TURLOCK, Calif. — The San Francisco State baseball team fell in the series finale to Stanislaus State, 4-2. The Gators missed several opportunities to cash in with runners in scoring position.
- The Gators fall to 22-15 and 15-14 in the CCAA. The Warriors improve to 21-16 and 14-13 in the CCAA. SF State falls to fifth, in front of Cal State East Bay. The Gators lead that series 2-1 and have one make-up game remaining.
- The 10 runs scored marks the fewest runs in a series this season.
- Justin Clark was the only Gator to have a multi-hit day, going 2-for-3.
- The Gators had the same number of free bases (four walks, two HBP) as hits.
Gabrial Lopez ran into some trouble in the second inning with bases loaded and two outs. After allowing an RBI walk, the defense retired the next batter. The Warriors hit RBI singles in the fifth and sixth innings to take a 3-0 lead. The Gators cut the lead down to one in the eighth.
Nick Upstill hit into a fielder's choice to allow one runner to score. With
Sammy Gonzales on first and Upstill at third, the Gators completed a successful double steal to bring Upstill home.
Stanislaus State hit another RBI single in the bottom of the inning to take a 4-2 lead. A pair of hit by pitches plated two runners for the Gators in the ninth but SF State was unable to bring them home.
- Gabrial Lopez made his first career start, pitching four innings in the loss. The only run given up was unearned. He also gave up three hits and two walks.
- Ethan Remmers, Mario Vargas and Andrew Silva all pitched in relief.
- Maxwell Pappas earned the win while Anthony Ramirez earned the save.
