SAN FRANCISCO — The San Francisco State baseball team fell 11-1 in its finale make-up game of the season against Cal State East Bay at Maloney Field. The loss gives the Gators a split on the series.
- The Gators fall to 24-16 overall and 17-15 in CCAA action while the Pioneers improve to 23-19 and 17-15 in the conference. The loss drops SF State to a tie for fourth with East Bay and one game ahead of Cal Poly Pomona who the Gators face this weekend.
- The 19 hits allowed by the pitching staff were the highest all season.
- SF State finished the game with 11 hits, but struggled to get runners in scoring position and finished 1-for-5 when they were there.
- Nick Upstill went 3-for-4 at the plate.
The Pioneers scored on a fielders' choice in the top of the third.
Kody Gardner hit a leadoff double in the bottom of the fourth, advanced to third on a fly out and came home off of
Gavin Haimovitz's RBI single. A double in the fifth plated two runs for East Bay in the fifth. The Pioneers scored six runs off six hits in the eighth, extending the lead to 9-1 and putting the game out of place.
- Mickey Radanovich made his fifth start of the season, completing three innings with a walk, a run and four hits. He was pulled at the top of the fourth after loading the bases with no outs.
- Gabrial Lopez (1-2) went 1.1 innings and gave up two runs, three hits while tossing the only strikeouts for the Gators that day with a pair.
- Andrew Silva was the only Gators to not give up runs, going 2.2 scoreless innings.
- Max Gonzales (4-0) earned the win for East Bay.
