SAN FRANCISCO - The San Francisco State volleyball team was selected to finish sixth in the California Collegiate Athletic Association as voted on in the preseason coaches poll. The Gators received 86 votes, seven off from fifth place Cal State East Bay. Cal State LA was selected to finish first in the CCAA.
The Gators will bring back 2022 CCAA Freshman of the Year
Tamiya Wilson and CCAA Setter of the Year
Kimberly DeBoer, along with their whole starting lineup and libero. The team just missed qualifying for the CCAA Tournament for the fourth consecutive year, falling short in the season's final match. Wilson led the CCAA and placed 20th in NCAA Div. II with 4.03 kills per set. The Temecula native paced the conference with 10.6 attacks per set, 1.5 more than anyone else in the league. DeBoer was also ranked nationally, placing 15th with 10.93 assists per set. Both Wilson and DeBoer were named to the CCAA Preseason Watch List.

Brianna DeBoer and
Izzy Issak. Velasquez and DeBoer were CCAA Honorable Mention in 2022 while Issak earned Honorable Mention in 2021.
The Gators open the 2023 season in Colorado on September 1. They will play in the Colorado School of Mines Classic with their first match scheduled for 11 a.m. MDT against Colorado Christian.
