SEASIDE, Calif. — The San Francisco State women's soccer team played to a 1-1 tie at Cal State Monterey Bay's Cardinale Stadium. A goal from
Carissa Capinpin in the 36th minute helped secure the Gators' first tie of the season.
- The Gators now sit at 1-5-1. Cal State Monterey Bay sits at 1-2-3.
- Carissa Capinpin scored her second goal of the season in her second straight game. Her two goals already matches her total from freshman year when she was named to the CCAA Second Team.
- Emily Monson was credited with an assist.
- The Otters held the edge on shots (8-5) and corner kicks (4-2).
- SF State was called for 11 fouls compared to the Otters' nine. Catherine Flores picked up her first yellow card of the season.
The Otters got on the board first in the 11th minute when Amelia McManus scored. The Gators would tie things up in the 36th minute when Capinpin took the cross in the box and found the back of the next. The Otters had a chance to go back on top late in the game in the 88th minute but Bella Miseroy made the save to preserve the tie.
Miseroy (1-0-1) made her second straight start and set a new personal high in saves with six. Aubrey McKessy of the Otters made three saves.
