VB | Wilson Earns Conference, National Weekly Honors

SAN FRANCISCO - Tamiya Wilson of San Francisco State volleyball was named the CCAA Offensive Player of the Week for September 18-24. Wilson was also recognized as the AVCA National Player of the Week after a stellar week where she averaged seven points a set.

This marks the first time this season Wilson has been named Conference Player of the Week after earning it twice during her freshman campaign. Wilson is the second SF State Athlete to be named AVCA National Player of the Week. The first was Jessica Haynie who was named National Player of the Week on Nov. 16, 2021.

Wilson was the catalyst for the offense in a week the Gators went 2-0. In total, Wilson had 37 kills,19 digs, five aces and hit for .429 in a pair of three-set victories. Her 20 kills against Cal State East Bay was the second highest in a three-set match this season. She also had 14 digs in the match, making it her third double-double of the season.

The Gators travel to Southern California with their first match against Cal State Dominguez Hills on Friday, September 29 at 5:00 p.m. The match will be broadcast on the CCAA Network with live stats available at sfstategators.com.  Updates will also be available on Twitter at @sfstate_vb.
