How It Happened

The Gators were tested early by an aggressive Golden Eagle offense. A free kick in the ninth minute taken outside of the box sailed past a wall of Gators but landed in the arms of the keeper. Minutes later, Cal State LA intercepted a pass from a Gator defender and Jeppe Paulsen got them on the board. Paulsen scored again less than two minutes later. Eduardo Castellanos scored in the 42nd minute to increase the lead to 3-0 going into halftime. The Golden Eagles added goals from Bryan Ortega and Aidan Wait in the second half.
