How it Happened

Both teams started slow, shooting a combined five baskets in the first quarter. Stan took a 10-4 lead after one thanks to a couple of second chance makes. Stanislaus opened the second quarter with a 7-1 run before Asiasi drained a hook shoot for the Gators' first basket of the quarter. Perséas Gioukaris and Bridges-Bey made back-to-back three to cut the deficit to eight. Asiasi banked her second three with 14 seconds left but Stanislaus's Blake hit a buzzer-beat jumper to bring Stanislaus's lead to 27-18 at the half.

After the two teams traded baskets to start the third, Stanislaus outscored the Gators 14-5 to take a 43-25 lead with one frame remaining. The offense continued to stall in the fourth with the Gators only managing to make two buckets.
