SAN FRANCISCO — The San Francisco State women's basketball team returned to Main Gym and hosted Stanislaus State Thursday evening. They dropped the home contest 55-30.
- SF State falls to 4-13 overall and 3-9 in CCAA action. The Warriors improve to 12-10 and 7-5 in conference play.
- The 30 points scored was the lowest the Gators have scored all season/ Sage Bridges-Bey was the only Gator to reach double figures, scoring 10 points.
- Kierra Johnson had her second-straight multi-block game with three blocks to bring her total on the season to 20.
- Stanislaus State went 19-for-28 at the line while the Gators only had six opportunities to shoot free throws, making four of them.
- The Warriors held a 46 to 27 advantage on rebounds.
Both teams started slow, shooting a combined five baskets in the first quarter. Stan took a 10-4 lead after one thanks to a couple of second chance makes. Stanislaus opened the second quarter with a 7-1 run before Asiasi drained a hook shoot for the Gators' first basket of the quarter. Perséas Gioukaris and Bridges-Bey made back-to-back three to cut the deficit to eight. Asiasi banked her second three with 14 seconds left but Stanislaus's Blake hit a buzzer-beat jumper to bring Stanislaus's lead to 27-18 at the half.
After the two teams traded baskets to start the third, Stanislaus outscored the Gators 14-5 to take a 43-25 lead with one frame remaining. The offense continued to stall in the fourth with the Gators only managing to make two buckets.
