SAN FRANCISCO — The San Francisco State women's basketball team struggled to score at home and fell to Cal Poly Humboldt 65-33.
- The Gators fall to 3-9 and 2-5 in conference action. The Lumberjacks improve to 5-6 and 3-4 in the CCAA
- The 33 points the Gators scored and the 20.8 shooting percentage marked the lowest all season.
- Alexsandra Alvarado had a team-high nine points marking the second time this season she did not reach double figures.
- The Gators, who have had success at the charity strip this season, went 7-for-19.
The first quarter marked a slow start for both sides.
Sage Bridges-Bey banked a three to cut Humboldt's lead to 6-5 with 5:15 to go in the first but that would prove to be as close as the Gators would get to taking the lead. Down 13-7 to start the second quarter, the Gators were unable to score and only made one basket in the final seconds of the quarter. They were unable to take advantage of chances at the line and went 3-for-8 during that stretch. Humboldt found their stride late in the quarter and outscored the Gators 18-5 in the second. The Lumberjacks' momentum went into the third quarter as they shot 60.0 percent from the field. The Gators could not get enough going offensively and foul trouble plagued them down the stretch.
The Gators will host Cal State Dominguez Hills at 5:30 pm on Thursday, January 11. Fans can stream the game live on the CCAA Network. Live stats will be available at sfstategators.com with updates also available on X at @sfstate_wbb.
