VB | DeBoer and Arbaugh Earn CCAA Weekly Honors

| By:
SAN FRANCISCO - After an impressive 3-0 week, a pair of San Francisco State volleyball players earned CCAA Weekly honors. Kimberly DeBoer was named the CCAA Setter of the Week for the second time this season while Asia Arbaugh earned her first weekly honor and was named the CCAA Defensive Player of the Week.

DeBoer helped lead SF State to three wins, including a four-set victory over No. 6 Chaminade. DeBoer averaged 11.83 assists across 12 sets and had two double-doubles.

She posted 57 assists to open the week against Cal State Monterey Bay. That was nine more assists than any individual in a four-set match this season and just one off the conference's top mark in 2024 (which DeBoer also holds). DeBoer added 10 digs as the Gators hit .344 as a team, their highest mark in conference play this season. DeBoer then posted 48 assists against Cal State East Bay along with two kills and seven digs.

The Gators then stepped out of CCAA play on Sunday to face the region's top-ranked team, No. 6 Chaminade. After the teams split the first two sets, DeBoer guided SF State to a .356 hitting percentage in the third set as the Gators built on that momentum to win the last two sets 25-16 and 25-16. DeBoer finished with 37 assists, 10 digs, two kills and an ace.

DeBoer is up to 13th in NCAA Division II with 11.12 assists per set. She leads the CCAA in assist average and total assists (478). She is 80 assists ahead of second place.

The sophomore libero averaged 3.75 digs and 0.83 aces per set to help San Francisco State earn three wins, including a four-set victory over the region's highest-ranked team, No. 6 Chaminade.

Arbaugh opened the seek with a season-high 19 digs and five aces against Cal State Monterey Bay. She added five assists. Against Cal State East Bay she had 13 digs and three aces as the Gators won in four sets.

Then, in a non-conference match against a top-10 team, Arbaugh had 13 digs, four assists and two aces as the Gators improved to 9-3 (3-1 CCAA) and became the CCAA team with the win against the highest-ranked opponent this season.  She now leads the CCAA and ranks 21st in NCAA Div. II with 26 aces

San Francisco State will be on the road for two matches this week. The Gators will open against Stanislaus State (9-3, 2-2 CCAA) on Friday before closing against Chico State (6-5, 3-1 CCAA) on Saturday. Both games can be viewed at CCAA on FloSports.
