- The Gators move to 0-6-4 in 2024, 0-2-2 in CCAA play, and the Warriors go to 4-4-3, 0-2-2 on the year.
- Hayden Frost got his fifth start of the season, and tied his season high with four saves.
- Angel Herrera scored his first goal of the year and fourth of his career.
- The Gators are now 5-1-2 in their last eight against Stanislaus State.
Frost was tested early, making a diving save on a free kick right outside the box in the fifth minute.Â
Michael Rodriguez sent in a free kick from just outside the right side of the box in the 30th minute, which was punched out by the Warrior goalkeeper. The deflection found Herrera, who quickly shot it in for the 1-0 lead. Rodriguez had a team-high two shots on goal on the afternoon.
The Warriors got a penalty kick following a handball in the box in the 40th minute. Frost made the diving save to his left on the PK but the deflection immediately found Alecxander Cuellar, who one-touched it to the left side for the goal to make it 1-1 going into the break.
Both teams traded opportunities in the second half. SF State pressured late with three shots in the last nine minutes, including Pablo Salazar's opportunity in the 89th which skipped off the 'keeper and sailed out. The Gators would have three corner kicks in those final nine minutes but couldn't find the game winner.
Frost (0-1-2) registered his third complete game this season for SF State. Angel Ruiz-Hernandez (4-4-3) also had four saves in the effort, and has appeared in every minute for the Warriors this campaign.

"It was a tough game against a team that tried to play good football. Unfortunately, we couldn't secure the three points,"Â said Head Coach Sebastian Carrasco. "The team did what it needed to do to earn its first win. Defensively, they executed their game plan perfectly, but regrettably we failed to capitalize on the opportunities we created. I have no doubt that victory will come soon."
The Gators return to the road this Thursday, October 17 at 4:30 p.m. to face Bay Area rival Cal State East Bay. Live stats will be available at sfstategators.com and fans can stream the match live on FloFC.
