ARCATA, Calif. - The RV San Francisco State volleyball team closed out the week with a sweep of Cal Poly Humboldt with all set scores of 25-17. The Gators had their best performance in front of the net all season, recording a season-high 12 total blocks.
- The Gators have now won seven in a row and improve to 13-3 and 7-1 in the CCAA. The Lumberjacks fall to 7-9 and 3-5 in conference.
- The 12 total blocks tied for fourth most in a three-set match in the conference so far this season. Tamiya Wilson had three solo blocks and a block assist while Chloe Henning had four total blocks.
- The Gators only allowed 24 kills by Humboldt and kept them to a -.009 hitting percentage for the match. They also only allowed one ace while serving up five of their own.
- Izzy Issak had a match-high 15 kills, followed by Aidan Goodrich with 10 and Tamiya Wilson with nine.
Gators took advantage of errors from Humboldt to take an early lead and never looked back. SF State had a balanced attack with five kills from Issak and four from
Tamiya Wilson.
Humboldt started out in front for set two but a 7-2 run put the Gators up 10-7 to give them some breathing room. Errors kept the Lumberjacks from making a comeback as
Anastacia Garza made back-to-back blocks before the Lumberjacks called a timeout down 21-12.
The Gators led by double digits for a good chunk of the third set and held the offense to -.065. At match point up 24-12, errors allowed Humboldt to stay in it but Issak finally ended the match with a kill to give the Gators the sweep.
