Izzy Issak of the #22 San Francisco State volleyball team has been named the CCAA Offensive Player of the Week for the week of Oct. 7-13. Issak becomes the first CCAA student-athlete in the last two years to earn both CCAA Offensive and CCAA Defensive Player of the Week honors in the same season.
Issak averaged 4.63 kills per set on a .255 hitting percentage to help SF State win two road matches and stay one game out of first place in the CCAA standings.
The senior outside hitter opened the week with 23 kills in five sets against Sonoma State. Issak then posted 14 kills in a sweep against Cal Poly Humboldt. The Los Gatos, Calif., native finished the weekend with 37 kills, 14 digs and four blocks.
Her outstanding week moved Issak to third in the CCAA and 10th in NCAA Division II with 4.4 kills per set. She is also 11th nationally with 4.91 points per set.
The Gators will host Cal State San Bernardino on Thursday, Oct. 17, before playing there on Saturday, Oct. 19. Both games can be viewed at CCAA on FloSports and live stats are available at
