How It Happened

The first half featured very little in the way of offense. The two managed just two shots apiece in the first 45 minutes.

Sandoval applied the pressure early putting a pair of shots on goal in the ninth and 17th minute, but he was unable to send one past Humboldt's keeper Adrian Gallardo.

Out of the break, SF State continued to apply pressure when Angel Herrera blasted a shot that went wide.

The Jacks went on the attack in the 56th minute when Jai Sternhall sent a shit wide right. Three minutes later Humboldt broke the scoreless tie when Enrique Tiscareno sent a shot to the back of the net.

SF State had a chance to equalize, their best chance coming on a shot by Aidan Olufson in the 74th minute, however, Gallardo was up to the task, keeping SF State off the scoreboard.
