SAN FRANCISCO - The San Francisco State women's soccer team dropped their CCAA matchup to Cal State LA Golden Eagles, who are receiving votes in the United Soccer Coaches poll, by a score of 2-0 on Friday.
- SF State goes to 3-12-1, 0-8-1 in Conference play, while RV Cal State LA improves to 8-3-4, 5-3-1
- Kylie Tone made four saves on 13 total shots faced, tied for the second-most shots faced by the junior in 2024.
- Three Gators recorded shots in Renee Davis, Luci Gulbransen and Grace Messenger.
Jasmine Ortiz took a free kick from inches outside the box, and drilled it to the bottom-left of the box for the 1-0 advantage in the 21st minute. Messenger had a good opportunity in the 25th as she tried to sent it to the lower-right part of the goal but Taesja Paopao made the save to her left. The Golden Eagles added to their lead in the 45th when Jacqueline Marin took a shot that was blocked and found Destiny Moedano who buried it low-center.
The Gator offense struggled in the second half and couldn't break through to record a shot in the final 45. However the defense played well in keeping the Golden Eagles off the scoreboard in the second frame while allowing just five shots.
Tone (0-4-1) made four saves in the second half. Paopao had a pair of saves in her eighth shutout of the season for the Golden Eagles.
The Gators conclude play at Cox Stadium this Sunday, Nov. 3 Friday, Nov. 1 against Cal State Dominguez Hills at 2 p.m.. Live stats will be available at sfstategators.com and fans can stream the match live on FloFC.
