SAN FRANCISCO - San Francisco State's Kimberly DeBoer became the first CCAA student-athlete to ever claim the FloCollege/CCAA Volleyball Setter of the Week honor in three consecutive weeks.
In the three-year history of the award, six setters have claimed the honor in back-to-back weeks, but no one has ever won in three straight weeks. The senior from Murrieta averaged 14.29 assists per set as San Francisco State secured two road wins to stay within two games of first place with two games remaining.
In Thursday's match at Cal State East Bay, DeBoer registered her seventh double-double of the season with 55 assists and 11 digs. She also added three kills and three aces in the four-set match. Against Cal State Monterey Bay on Saturday, DeBoer had 45 kills in three sets, matching the CCAA season-best for a contest that length.
Her performance extended her CCAA lead in assists per set (11.55) and moved her to eight in NCAA Div. II. She is just seven assists away from 1,000 for the season.
No. 19 San Francisco State will close out the regular season by hosting San Francisco State (Nov. 14) and Cal Poly Pomona (Nov.16). Both games can be viewed on FloCollege. Visit GoCCAA.org/FloCollege for more information.
