How It Happened

A foul in the box gave the Toros a penalty kick in the fifth minute, and Ramiro Rosas buried it to the lower-right of the net for the 1-0 lead. Marco Valdez's shot hit the crossbar, and the rebound found him but his one-touch was nicely saved by the Toro goalkeeper in the 19th minute. The Gators leveled things up in the 32nd as Gallo sent in a corner kick, and Sevillano headed it towards the near post for his third goal of the year.

The Toros regained the lead in the 56th as Mikey McKibbin timed the breakaway nicely off a pass from across the pitch, and got it past Kaneko on the right side for a 2-1 advantage. McKibbin secured the brace in the 78th when Kaneko got caught in no-man's land trying to intercept the breakaway, and McKibbin kicked it in to the far-left post. Dominguez Hills took 11 shots in the second half, with the Gators doing a nice job keeping it just a two-score game. Offensively SF State provided the pressure with four shots of their own.
