SAN FRANCISCO - Four student-athletes from the San Francisco State volleyball team have been named to the 2024 Academic All-District® Volleyball Team, as selected by
College Sports Communicators.
Kimberly DeBoer and Brianna DeBoer earn CSC Academic All-District for the third time in their careers while Izzy Issak and Anastacia Garza earn it for the first time. In addition, both DeBoer sisters and Issak advance to the national ballot to be voted on by CSC members. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced January 14, 2025.
Kimberly DeBoer wrapped up an outstanding career this past week as the Gators finished the season as the National Runner-Up. She set a new single season assist record with 1392. DeBoer became the first Gator to be named a AVCA Second Team All-American. Other honors she earned this season include AVCA All-West Region First Team, D2CCA All-West Region First Team, All-West Region and NCAA Championship Tournament team, All-CCAA First Team and CCAA Setter of the Year for a third straight season. DeBoer earned her undergraduate degree and is working on her master's degree in Kinesilogy.
Brianna Deboer amassed over 400 digs for the second time in her career with 422. Her 125 career service aces goes down as third most in school history. DeBoer earned a spot on the All-West Region Tournament Team after recording 73 digs and 11 assists through three games. DeBoer will graduate with a degree in Psychology and minors in Counseling and Holistic Health.
Izzy Issak had a huge senior season where she earned AVCA All-American Honorable Mention, D2CCA All-West Second Team, AVCA West Region Honorable Mention and All-CCAA First Team Honors. She broke a 15 year record and recorded 495 kills on the season. Like Kimberly DeBoer, Issak was named to the All-West Region and NCAA Championship Team. Issak will graduate with majors in History & Race and Resistance Studies.
Garza stepped up in her sophomore year and earned All-CCAA Second Team Honors. She led the team in blocks (68) and finished fourth in kills (258). After helping the Gators make a run to the National Championship match, Garza earned a spot on the All-Tournament Team. Garza is a Psychology major.
The 2024 Academic All-District® Volleyball teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes volleyball honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
The Division II and III CSC Academic All-America® programs are partially financially supported by the NCAA Division II and III national governance structures to assist CSC with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2024-25 Divisions II and III Academic All-America® programs. The NAIA CSC Academic All-America® program is partially financially supported through the NAIA governance structure.
