How It Happened

With their top scorer unavailable today, the Gators kept the game tight through most of the opening half. With 12:40 to play in the opening period, Donovan Cooks hit a layup to make the score 17-15.

A 25-7 run by the Wildcats to end the half gave the host a 20-point cushion and never looked back, going into the locker room leading 44-26 at the half.

SF State had good balance on offense in the first, with seven players scoring at least two points. Jackson led the way with six first-half points. Bellamy had five, while Cooks and Bakke had four each.

Out of the break, the Wildcats pushed their lead to 27, 68-41 following a bucket in the paint from Jojo Murphy, it was part of Murphy's game-high 21 points.

The Gators went on a 10-0 scoring run late in the game to cut the deficit to 17 following a bucket from Uniacke. A three from Bellamy made it a 15-point contest, 73-58 Wildcats, but the Gators could not get any closer.
