How They Scored

  • After the first two innings breezed by, the Gators got on the board in the third thanks to DeLeon's two-out single up the middle that drove home pinch runner Emily Madrigal.
  • Chaminade answered in the top of the fourth. Taryn Fujioka blasted a home run down the right field line, then Kobe Brown walked.  Larchelle Tuifao doubled, then Gators catcher Marley Gonzales caught pinch runner Vanessa Pena at home when a wild pitch bounced back, allowing Gonzales to apply the tag. However, Bailey Jacobsen followed with an RBI double that chased SF State starter Nia Trinidad. Mari Takeda Bajan surrendered an RBI double that gave Chaminade a 3-1 lead before getting out of the inning.
  • SF State answered quickly in the bottom of the fourth. Samy Vargas led the inning off with a walk, Kira Nelson legged out a bunt single, then Rylee McDaniel moved those two up with a sacrifice bunt. Lexi Holihan followed with a single back up the middle to tie the game at 3-3.
  • Chaminade took the lead in the top of the seventh on another Brown RBI single.
  • Mia Misasi led off the bottom of the seventh with a single, DeLeon reached on a dropped catch at first base, Gonzales moved them up with a sacrifice bunt, then Daniella Guerrera walked to load the bases. How They Scored

  • The difference in game two came in the third inning when Biola struck for all five of its runs. Jackie Ibarra and Raylene Roybal had back-to-back singles that made it 3-0. Ibarra beat the throw home on a ball in the infield to make it 4-0, then a bobbled ball allowed a run to get home uncontested, though SF State recorded an out on the play for the fielder's choice.
  • The Gators loaded the bases in the seventh but a flyout to left field ended the threat.
