How It Happened

After back to back doubles allowed a run in the first, David Eichhorn was nearly untouchable on the mound and only allowed two base runners through the next seven innings. A wild pitch set up runners in scoring position and Murillo drove one home to tie the game 1-1. With Eichhorn's day done in the ninth, Monterey Bay's JJ Engmen hit a lead-off single, stole second and advanced to third on a throwing error and scored on a wild pitch.

Cole Thompson hit a double to center and stole third. Murillo hit a bloop single to tie the game. Derek Laferriere hit a double to the left field wall. Murillo was waved home from third but was thrown out at the plate. Tied 2-2 in the bottom of the 11th with one out, the Otters intentionally walked Nicholas Cook to load the bases and try and turn a double play to extend the game. Murillo hit the ball to left field to give the Gators the win.
