POMONA, Calif. - The San Francisco State baseball team dropped pair of games 3-2 and 8-3 to Cal Poly Pomona in a series loss to the Broncos.

- SF State falls to 19-14 and 13-10 in conference. Pomona is now 15-13 and 11-9 in the CCAA
- The Gators only had one extra base hit on the day, a double by Armando Murillo in game two.
- In game one, the Gators finished with 10 players left on base compared to the Bronco's one.
- Jacob French and Justin Johnson had a multi-hit game in game one while Daniel Santos had a multi-hit game in game two.
Game One
AÂ pair of sac flies in the second put the Broncos up early in game one. The Gators had a runner in scoring position twice through six innings but could not capitalize on it. SF State finally broke through in the seventh when they loaded up the bases. Murillo hit into a fielder's choice to bring one run in and French singled up the middle to tie the game up. Garza, who had limited the Broncos to just four hits through the first seven innings, had a chance to go back out there in the ninth if the game was tied. With two outs in the eighth, Brent Cota homered and the Gators couldn't score the tying run in the top of the ninth.

- Ryan Garza (4-2) pitched all eight innings for the Gators and gave up three runs, five hits and tossed six strikeouts.
- Drew Atherton picked up the win in relief while Chris Fields earned a save.
Game two
The offense started off hot in the first inning. Murillo hit a lead-off double and the next two batters were walked. Johnson hit a sac fly to plate one while
Derek Laferriere hit an RBI single to give the Gators an early 2-0 lead.
A fielder's choice allowed a runner to score from third in the second for the Broncos and an RBI single tied the game up in the third. The Broncos took the lead for good in the fifth, plating two runs off four hits and added four insurance runs in the sixth. French singled up the middle in the top of the seventh to bring a run home and cut the lead to 8-3 but the Gators could not rally to close the deficit.

- Mickey Radanovich started and went three innings, giving up two runs and four hits while tossing two strikeouts.
- Ethan Remmers pitched a scoreless frame in the fourth, tossing two strikeouts as well.
- French (2-1) took the mound in the fifth and was charged with two runs in a third of an inning of work, leaving him on the hook for the loss.
- Andrew Silva and Trent Lopez also saw time in relief.
- Noel Soto (4-2) went the distance for the Broncos in the win.
